About Me

Hi I'm Ryan Miller. I've always been interested in how the world works and how people operate within it. This eagerness and thirst to learn has lead me to follow a unique path. After studying abroad in Germany for six months in 2013 I spent time in Peru as a volunteer English teacher in 2014 and then went back to Germany for almost a year as an English Teaching Assistant through the Fulbright program from 2015 to 2016.

Traveling and living abroad is a huge part of my life and has been instrumental in the development of my worldview. On top of teaching, traveling, and perfecting my German, during my time as a Fulbright grantee I did work as a freelance translator for multiple clients including Adam Opel AG, began learning web design and WordPress--building this site as well as one for a friend's band (available here), and cultivated an interest in finance and digital marketing.

The evolution of my worldview lead me to value human achievement and ingenuity--and the effective use of one's mind above all else. To that end I write extensively about liberty, economics, entrepreneurship, and the morality of productivity and standing on one's own two feet. On top of that I am a current participant at Praxis--an entrepreneurial education and apprenticeship program--and a project manager at Jack Entertainment--a Detroit based gaming company which has been crucial to the resurgence of Detroit.

I'm a language and travel enthusiast, enjoy outdoor activities like hiking and rock climbing, and am always seeking to better understand the world through business, marketing, and writing. I would love to connect with you.
